Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan announced in a statement made on the occasion of October 6 World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day that a total of 2.31 billion Turkish Liras in health expenditures were covered for cerebral palsy patients in the first six months of 2026.

Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan made an important announcement via his social media account on the occasion of October 6 World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day.

Supports Within the Scope of General Health Insurance

Işıkhan stated that citizens with cerebral palsy are supported in a wide range from physical therapy and rehabilitation practices to medication and medical supply support.

It was shared that many services needed by patients under the umbrella of General Health Insurance are covered within the framework of the Health Implementation Communiqué.

Six-Month Expenditure Distribution

According to the data shared by the Ministry, 1.1 billion Turkish Liras was spent on treatments and examinations in the first six months of 2026.

In the same period, a total of 2.31 billion liras in health expenses was covered, consisting of 1.07 billion Turkish Liras for medications and 135.5 million Turkish Liras for medical devices.

Emphasis on Uninterrupted Support

Minister Işıkhan stated that they will continue to stand by cerebral palsy patients and their families with an understanding of awareness, love, and uninterrupted support.
