The heavy overnight attacks caused power outages, raising questions about whether this marks the beginning of the winter campaign. Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi stated that such a comprehensive attack has not been experienced since the end of the last heating season.
Civilian Casualties and Regional Impacts
In the nationwide attacks, 7 civilians lost their lives and 24 people were injured. In the city of Vyshhorod in the Kyiv region, a child was reported killed in an attack on their home, while three people also lost their lives in the capital.
Military Statements and Strategic Objectives
Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat noted that Russia launched 2,850 jet-propelled UAVs in August, while the number has already reached 3,177 this month. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that hydroelectric and thermal power plants, as well as energy facilities, were hit.
