Allegations of Chinese Satellite Data in Missile Attack Targeting US Troops

The US government has obtained intelligence findings linking the Iranian ballistic missile attack on a military base in Jordan, which resulted in the deaths of three American soldiers, to high-quality satellite imagery provided by Chinese entities.

In July, the quarters of American soldiers at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in northeastern Jordan were targeted by Iranian ballistic missiles.

As a result of this attack, three American soldiers lost their lives, while four others were injured, requiring medical evacuation.

Allegations of Chinese-Sourced Satellite Imagery

According to US intelligence reports, it was determined that high-quality satellite imagery provided by Chinese firms was used in this attack carried out by Iran.

For months, the Washington administration had been issuing warnings that Chinese companies were providing targeting data to Tehran.

Beijing's Response to the Allegations

In response to Washington's inquiries regarding industrial satellite data, Chinese officials denied the allegations, demanding evidence.

The Chinese Embassy in the US stated that Beijing's assistance to Tehran complies with international law and that the criticisms do not reflect reality.

Sanctions on Chinese Companies in May

In May, the US administration imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies named Mizart Vision, Earth Eye, and Chang Guang.

In official statements, it was emphasized that the provision of satellite imagery to Iran by these companies threatened American and allied personnel.

Diplomatic Relations and Expert Assessments

It is stated that this development could lead to tensions ahead of the summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Experts and former officials note that the satellite imagery was only part of Iran's broader intelligence operation.
