An Iranian tanker located off the coast of Kharg Island, which is of key importance to Iran's oil exports, was the target of a missile attack by US forces. Sources in the region announced that no casualties occurred.

Attack Off the Coast of Kharg Island

It was reported that an Iranian tanker sailing near Kharg Island, Iran's strategic oil export hub in the Gulf region, was hit. The semi-official Tasnim news agency, based on its correspondent in the region, stated that the tanker was the target of four American missiles.

Crew Being Evacuated

According to initial information obtained from local sources following the attack, no casualties occurred in the incident. As part of security measures, the evacuation operations of the crew on the tanker were initiated.

Oil Trade and Blockade Process

Iran is the third-largest producer among OPEC member countries and, before the war, exported 90 percent of its crude oil through Kharg Island. Due to the American blockade enforced since mid-April, oil flow had already been disrupted.
