National athlete Cemile Aykoç, who started muay thai after admiring her classmates' training sessions during her high school years in Manisa, won the gold medal at the Muay Thai World Championship held in Kosovo.

National athlete Cemile Aykoç, who developed an interest in this combat sport while accompanying her classmates to their muay thai training sessions during high school in Manisa, has achieved a significant milestone in her individual career.

Gold Medal Won in Kosovo

Competing in the U24 Women's 63.5 kg category at the Muay Thai World Championship held in the city of Deçan, Kosovo, from September 1 to 11, Aykoç claimed the gold medal following successful matches.

Past Achievements and University Education

A 22-year-old second-year student at Celal Bayar University Faculty of Sport Sciences, the athlete had previously secured European second-place finishes, a Kick Boxing World Cup championship, and world second-place finishes in her career.

Having won her first Turkish championship in 2021 and wearing the national jersey every year since 2022, the successful athlete experienced the joy of a world championship for the first time this year.

Disciplined Work and Future Goals

Stating that she has reaped the rewards of her regular and disciplined work, the national athlete emphasized that girls should turn to combat sports to be able to defend themselves and called for support for individual athletes.
