Bausch + Lomb Announces Results for enVista Aspire Intraocular Lenses
A new study based on real-world data reveals that special lenses used in cataract surgery deliver successful vision outcomes.
Bausch + Lomb announced real-world study results demonstrating that enVista Aspire and enVista Aspire toric intraocular lenses provide successful distance visual acuity and functional intermediate vision following cataract surgery.
Real-World Research Results
Bausch + Lomb announced the publication of a new real-world study evaluating the visual and refractive outcomes of enVista Aspire and enVista Aspire toric intraocular lenses in patients undergoing cataract surgery.
Scope and Data of the Study
Published in the journal Ophthalmology and Therapy, the multi-center retrospective study examined real-world data from 141 eyes, revealing that advanced monofocal lenses support distance and intermediate vision.
Patient Groups and Success Rates
While the analysis examined 141 eyes belonging to 84 patients, it was reported that 88 of these eyes received the enVista Aspire and 53 received the enVista Aspire toric intraocular lens.
All patients in both groups achieved binocular uncorrected intermediate visual acuity of 20/32 or better, with no serious adverse events reported in the study.
Expert Evaluations
Luc Bonnefoy, President of Surgical at Bausch + Lomb, stated that the results reinforce clinical data showing that optics optimized for intermediate vision can provide both good distance and intermediate vision.
Eric Donnenfeld, lead author of the study, stated that these results provide evidence that optics optimized for intermediate vision achieve the intended effect in clinical practice.
