The death toll from search and rescue operations following a missile strike on a residential building in the northern Ukrainian town of Pryluky has risen to 22.

Bodies Pulled From the Rubble

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine announced that search and rescue operations are ongoing in the rubble of the hit residential building in the town of Pryluky, and the death toll has risen to 22, including five children.

Injured and Rescued Citizens

The attack, which took place on Wednesday in the Chernihiv region, injured 54 people, including seven children. Rescue workers pulled 15 people alive from the rubble, including one child.

Statement and Warnings From Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that a cruise missile directly hit the building. Zelenskyy warned that as winter approaches, Russia will increase its daily missile and drone attacks.

Bombardments in and Around Kyiv

The strikes occurred as part of a massive missile and drone bombardment targeting Kyiv and a dozen other regions. Energy companies DTEK and Ukrenergo reported that emergency power outages had been ordered in the capital.

Toll of Drone Attacks

It was announced that late Wednesday night, Russian drones struck Kyiv's Obolonskyi and Desnianskyi districts. These attacks reportedly killed a total of four people and injured numerous others.
