Ten people were injured when a car plowed into a crowd gathered to welcome the Newcastle Knights rugby team north of Sydney, Australia. Authorities announced that the incident was not terror-related.

The Course of Events and Condition of the Injured

In the incident that occurred on Saturday morning in the northern Sydney suburb of Wallsend, a car driving into the crowd waiting for the team bus resulted in at least ten people being injured.

It was reported that a five-year-old girl and a sixty-seven-year-old man among the injured are in critical condition, while the other eight people remain in stable condition at the hospital.

Driver's Status and Police Investigation

It was stated that the driver, who was detained by police teams at the scene, is an eighteen-year-old male.

In line with initial findings and statements made, it was reported that police assess the incident as having no links to terrorism.
