The annual list of the world's coolest neighborhoods published by Time Out magazine has been announced, with Chicago's West Town neighborhood securing a spot on the list.
The Coolest Places in the World
In the list published by Time Out magazine, the top spot went to the Jongno 3-ga district in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The top three positions on the list were rounded out by L'Ocean in Rabat, Morocco, and Neos Kosmos in Athens, Greece.
Location and Boundaries of West Town
The magazine stated that the West Town area extends from the Chicago River on the east to Kedzie Avenue on the west. The area, bounded by Division Street on the north and Hubbard Street on the south, encompasses the neighborhoods of Noble Square, East Village, and Ukrainian Village.
Emphasis on Culture and Art
In its evaluation, the magazine praised the vibrancy of the West Town area, particularly within its dining, arts, and cultural scenes, emphasizing that it stands out through these aspects.
Other Places from the US on the List
A total of four neighborhoods from the United States made the list. While Chinatown in Los Angeles ranked fourth, the Financial District in New York placed 28th, and the Distillery District in Lexington, Kentucky, secured the 40th spot.
