Yemen war updates: Houthi attacks on two Saudi airports kill three people

At least three foreign nationals lost their lives in drone and missile attacks launched by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia's Abha and King Khalid international airports. Jordan condemned the attacks, while military operations in Yemen and the region continued unabated.

Airport attacks and condemnation

Houthi drone and missile attacks were carried out targeting the Abha and King Khalid international airports in Saudi Arabia. According to information provided by Saudi authorities, at least three foreign nationals lost their lives in these attacks.

Following these attacks, the Jordanian government announced that it officially condemns the targeting of Saudi Arabia.

Operations and control in Yemen

Yemeni government forces reported carrying out numerous airstrikes against Houthi military targets as part of the Dawn of Yemen operation. It was stated that thousands of Houthi fighters were neutralized as a result of the operations.

Yemeni government forces also publicly announced that full control has been established over the strategic Mount Kahbub, which overlooks the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.

Developments on the US and Iran fronts

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that American forces sank 59 Iranian naval vessels during the ongoing conflicts. It was noted that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier is preparing to return after a long-term deployment.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) denied claims by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and under Iranian control.

Regional claims and diplomatic contacts

Syrian presidential adviser Ahmed Mowafaq Zaidan denied claims that Saudi Arabia requested the Damascus administration to send Syrian military personnel to the country or to Yemen.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei announced that Tehran has determined its own conditions for ending the war.

Oil markets and the US stance

Following the International Energy Agency's decision to accelerate the release of emergency oil stocks, oil prices dropped to around $100 per barrel.

The US administration rejected Saudi Arabia's request for direct military support against the Houthis, keeping its focus reserved on the conflict with Iran.
