The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the World Health Organization will suspend diesel fuel shipments to more than 20 hospitals and health centers starting from September 19 due to insufficient funding.

Suspension of Fuel Shipments

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that diesel fuel shipments to more than 20 hospitals and health centers will be suspended starting from September 19 due to insufficient funding by the World Health Organization.

Munir al-Bursh, Director General of the Gaza Ministry of Health, made statements on his social media account, stating that the decision directly threatens the functioning of the health system.

Danger in Health Services

It was emphasized that hospitals are largely dependent on generators due to the power grid being out of service, and cutting off the fuel will halt vital units.

It was reported that operating rooms, intensive care units, incubators, dialysis machines, and ambulance services, as well as the cold chain required for medicines, will be endangered.

International Call and Blockade

Stating that these events are not a temporary crisis, officials conveyed that the situation is driving hospitals toward complete closure and leaving patients facing the risk of death.

Munir al-Bursh called on the WHO, donor countries, and the international community to take urgent action to sustain funding and fuel supply.
