Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Visits Vietnamese-German University

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Trung Tinh visited the Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City to evaluate research cooperation and innovation.

Purpose and Scope of the Visit

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Trung Tinh visited and conducted working sessions at the Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City. The visit aimed to promote research cooperation and the development of advanced technologies as the university enters a new phase of development.

Current Status of the University

University representatives reported on operational results for the 2026-2035 period. The institution directly cooperates with more than 40 German partner universities, providing education to over 4,500 students across 26 programs within the Bologna system. Infrastructure has been modernized with a loan of approximately 200 million USD provided by the World Bank.

Research and Laboratory Investments

The university is implementing a research portfolio valued at 412.5 billion VND, focusing on the Applied Technology Laboratory and the Semiconductor Technology Laboratory. Additionally, specialized research centers operate in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, new materials, and digital transformation.

Future Goals and Ministry Support

Rector Professor René Thiele stated that the university focuses on in-depth research. Deputy Minister Tran Trung Tinh confirmed that the Ministry will continue to support the university in carrying out key science and technology tasks and providing qualified human resources.
