The Scale of the Disaster and Its Impacts on the Region
Powerful floodwaters and landslides affecting Nepal's Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river regions caused heavy destruction, especially in the Rasuwa district on the Nepal-China border.
Authorities reported that at least five people lost their lives in China's Tibet region as well, and hundreds of people are missing due to floods along the border line.
Rescue Operations and International Support
Search and rescue operations, which were temporarily suspended due to new flood risks posed by overflowing barrier lakes, have been resumed now that water risks have reached manageable levels.
India became one of the countries providing international support to Nepal by dispatching relief supplies and tunnel rescue teams to the disaster zone.
