Trump backs away from top aides who reportedly advised pro-Russia government

Donald Trump has distanced himself from campaign managers Chris LaCivita and James Blair following reports that they supported a pro-Russian government in the Balkans.

Allegations Regarding the Advisers

It was reported that Chris LaCivita and James Blair spent the weekend in Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina to assist the government there ahead of the elections.

Following these emerging reports, US President Donald Trump stated that he was unaware of the work carried out by the individuals in question.

Social Media Statement

In a statement on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump noted that these individuals were not direct staff members within his own organization.

He stated that these names held the status of external service consultants and, like other advisers in Washington, could work for others as well.

Conflict of Interest Review

President Trump stated that he had no information on who else the advisers were working with, but that he would review the situation and take the necessary steps.

He publicly announced that if any conflict of interest is detected, the business relationships with the relevant advisers will be terminated immediately.

Maga Inc and Election Operations

LaCivita and Blair also work with Maga Inc, a SuperPac supporting Republican candidates in the November midterm elections.

A spokesperson for Maga Inc stated that the named advisers continued to actively participate in election work even during their travels.
