Dozens Killed in Warehouse Attack in Ukraine's Kyiv Region
The death toll from a Russian drone attack targeting an ammunition depot near Kyiv has reached 37, making the incident the deadliest attack of the year.
At least 37 people lost their lives as a result of a Russian drone attack on an ammunition depot in the village of Myla near Ukraine's capital, Kyiv. This incident in the Bucha region was announced as the deadliest attack recorded in the war this year.
Details and Casualties of the Attack
The drone attack carried out in the village of Myla, west of Kyiv, turned dozens of surrounding houses and buildings into ruins while also triggering massive fires. Authorities reported that more than 370 people were safely evacuated from the scene.
Regional military administration head Tymur Tkachenko stated that the attack damaged at least 50 residential buildings. It was noted that a large portion of those who lost their lives consisted of residents from a nursing home where elderly and disabled individuals stayed.
Legal Investigations and Reactions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the attack occurred as a result of terrible negligence. Emphasizing that storing ammunition near residential areas is prohibited, Zelenskyy stated that criminal investigations have been initiated against those responsible.
Zelenskyy confirmed that the targeted facility was an ammunition storage area belonging to the Ukrainian Defense Forces and conveyed that oversights regarding security procedures will be pursued.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that components and launch budgets for long-range drones were stored at the depot in the Myla area.
It was reported that Russian forces also carried out attacks on the ports of Mykolaiv and Izmail, as well as logistics centers storing parts for Flamingo cruise missiles in the Kyiv region.
