Healthcare Workers and Students Hold Protest for Gaza in Trabzon
Healthcare workers and medical students in Trabzon protested Israel's attacks in Gaza and its targeting of the healthcare system.
Healthcare workers and medical faculty students who gathered in Trabzon held a press release against Israel's attacks in Gaza and its targeting of healthcare centers.
Gathered in Front of the Hospital
Healthcare workers and medical faculty students in Trabzon came together to protest Israel's attacks in Gaza and draw attention to what is happening in Palestine.
Doctors, medical students, and hospital staff participated in the joint press release held in front of the Karadeniz Technical University Farabi Hospital Chief Physician's Office.
Emphasis on the Right to Health
Making a statement on behalf of the group, medical faculty student Ahmet İlhan Soyyiğit stated that they wanted to salute the honorable resistance of the people of Gaza and defend the right to health, which is being systematically destroyed.
Soyyiğit expressed that what is happening in Gaza is a planned healthcare massacre in which international law, medical ethics, and universal human rights are trampled upon.
Targeting of Hospitals
Noting that all health centers, down to Kamal Adwan Hospital, have been directly targeted, Soyyiğit emphasized that turning hospitals into ruins is a clear war crime.
Particular attention was drawn to the fact that severely ill patients and injured children are deprived of urgent medical evacuation due to closed border gates.
Call to International Institutions
All conscientious institutions, primarily the World Health Organization and the World Medical Association, were invited to defend the right to life.
In the statement, it was expressed that the resistance will continue until Gaza and all Palestinian territories achieve their independence.
