Santiago 2026, one of the major events in the world para archery calendar, is being held in Chile's capital as the penultimate leg of the inaugural Hyundai World Para Series.

The Significance of the Competition in Chile

As one of the last major competitions of the outdoor season, this event is being held in Santiago, the capital of Chile, following the legs in Bangkok, Nove Mesto, and Ahmedabad. The series will conclude with the closing stage to be held in Dubai in December.

Situation of Asian Athletes

Due to the Asian Para Games coinciding with the individual finals, leading athletes from Asia will be unable to travel to South America. This situation leaves the tournament's championship race more open.

Notable Absences and Opportunities

Paralympic medalists Singh Harvinder and Sheetal Devi from India, as well as Ken Swagumilang from Singapore, will not be able to take part in the tournament. The absence of these figures presents a major opportunity for athletes from the Americas to collect world ranking points.

Participation of World Number Ones

World number ones in the W1 men's and women's categories, Jason Tabansky and Sarka Pultar Musilova, will shoot at the Peñalolen National Training Center. Additionally, Samuel Molina from the host country, who won the third stage in Ahmedabad, will also compete.

Host and International Participation

Host nation Chile is represented in the event with the largest delegation, consisting of twelve athletes. Among the participants from outside the Americas are three athletes from the Czech Republic and four from Romania.
