As renewed clashes continue between Iran and the United States following the expiration of a 60-day ceasefire, Tehran issued a stern warning to Washington. The Iranian parliament speaker emphasized that the rules of the game have changed.

Following the official expiration of the 60-day ceasefire between Iran and the US last month, fighting between the sides flared up again last Sunday. The war has reportedly been ongoing for six months.

In a statement broadcast on state media on Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the Americans must realize the rules have changed before it is too late, adding that they would deliver a faster and heavier response.
Military Moves and Mutual Claims
The Washington administration announced that it struck Iranian oil tankers in response to an attack by Iran on American warships in the region. Meanwhile, Iranian state media claimed that the country's navy attacked a US remote-controlled vessel attempting to enter the Strait of Hormuz.
US Central Command spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins completely denied this claim by Iranian state media, stating it did not reflect the truth. US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth noted in a social media statement that if Iran opens fire on US vessels, they would destroy and sink the oil tankers.
Regional Impact and Diplomatic Status
While targets in regional countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan have been affected by the clashes, US President Donald Trump stated that the fighting would not last very long. Months of negotiations between the sides failed to achieve lasting peace, and the prospect of a diplomatic agreement in the near future appears unlikely.
