In his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that his country was only defending itself against U.S. and Israeli attacks.

During the speech, he displayed photographs of former Leader Ali Khamenei and Iranian children who lost their lives in the early days of the war.

U.S. and Israel Targeted

Pezeshkian stated that American and Israeli forces carried out attacks against his country, but emphasized that the Iranian people did not bow.

In the later parts of his speech, directly targeting U.S. President Donald Trump, he stated that they do not accept the language of force and are ready for negotiations.

Diplomacy and Back-Channel Talks

While contacts in New York continued, indirect talks were held between Iranian officials with the participation of U.S. special envoys, mediated by Qatar.

While the Iranian side stated that these contacts were not a new situation, the Washington administration evaluated the talks as a positive step.
