Ongoing Clashes on the Strategic Hill
Although more than two months have passed since the ceasefire came into effect, fighting has stopped across most of Lebanon, but the battle continues at the Ali Taher hill, which overlooks parts of the main southern city.
In recent weeks, the hill in question has been the target of regular artillery fire and airstrikes by the Israeli military, while Hezbollah has repeatedly launched drone attacks on Israeli troops in the area.
US Plan and Control Claims
The United States, which mediated talks between Lebanon and Israel, had requested that the hill be handed over to the Lebanese army as part of a broader plan aimed at disarming Hezbollah, but Hezbollah rejected this proposal.
On Thursday night, the Israeli military announced that it had achieved operational control over the Ali Taher hill and the tunnel network beneath it, though certain claims and observations in the region indicate that this situation remains unclear.
