An emergency occurred on a FlyDubai flight heading from Dubai to Israel due to the co-pilot launching a knife attack against the captain and attempting to take control of the aircraft to crash it. The plane was safely diverted to the Tabuk region of Saudi Arabia.

Heroic Intervention by Passengers

It was stated that during the attack, passengers entered the cockpit to neutralize the assailant and handed control back over to the rest of the flight crew. Passenger Asaf Rajuan was among those who fought the attacker and shared information about the situation on social media.

Statements from Authorities and Investigation

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the co-pilot had undergone radical Islamist training. Following the incident, Israeli security forces are investigating potential aspects of the attack, while the attacker was detained by Saudi authorities.

Condition of the Injured and Flight Crew

The captain pilot, Smit Machchhar, an Indian national who was attacked, and an unnamed crew member were taken to the hospital. It was reported that passengers sustained no injuries, and the attacker is being interrogated by Saudi authorities.
