Securing 25.3% of the vote in the Berlin state elections, the far-left Left Party doubled its previous score to rise to the position of the leading party.
According to the election results, the Christian Democrats remained in second place with 19%, while the far-right Alternative for Germany party obtained a vote share of 16%.
Housing Crisis and Expropriation Pledge
Elif Eralp, the lead candidate of the Left Party, described the rising housing costs in the capital as the biggest social problem and committed to expropriating private housing associations.
