Mercer University Rises in National University Rankings

Mercer University climbed 21 spots in the overall rankings to 148th place and ranked 75th among private universities in the 2027 Best Colleges rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

Mercer University has achieved new rankings, continuing its ascent among leading private research universities in the United States. The university climbed 21 spots across all public and private universities nationwide to claim the 148th position.

Private Universities and Value Category

Ranking 75th nationally in the newly published Best Private Universities category, the institution also rose to 37th place on the Best Value Schools list. This category factors in academic quality and the previous year's net cost for an average student receiving need-based financial aid.

Success of Academic Programs

The university's engineering school ranked 44th among institutions offering bachelor's or master's degrees, while securing 49th place nationally in undergraduate teaching. In addition, programs in business, nursing, computer science, and psychology gained national recognition.

Graduate Success and Career Opportunities

Administration and academic officials stated that these rankings reflect student success and post-graduation outcomes. Ninety-five percent of graduates are employed or pursuing advanced educational programs within six months of graduation.
