In the town of Kuhestak, located in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, at least four people, including a child, lost their lives and more than sixty others were injured as a result of an explosion targeting a wedding ceremony.
Explosion During Wedding Night
A wedding ceremony held in the southern Iranian coastal town of Kuhestak was devastated by an airstrike on the evening of September 1 at around 21:30 local time.
The explosion in this small community along the coast of the Strait of Hormuz turned a night of celebration into a major disaster and deep mourning.
Casualties and Condition of the Injured
According to information provided by local authorities, at least four people, including a child, died as a result of the attack, and more than sixty people were injured.
It was reported that at least six of the injured, who are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of a hospital in the city of Minab, remain in critical condition.
Targeted House and Reactions
According to Iranian state media and eyewitness accounts, the house struck by the attack belonged to local fisherman Ali Mallahi, who was celebrating his daughter's wedding.
Following the attack, residents were stated to have entered a state of deep mourning and felt great anger over the incident.

US Vice President JD Vance stated on Thursday that the US never targets civilians in a combat environment, but that accidents can sometimes happen, and expressed skepticism regarding Iran's reports.
Moein Arjomand, director of the Balochistan Human Rights Documentation Center, noted that due to internet restrictions in the region, local teams have faced increasing obstacles while investigating the explosion.
