Nationalities of Missing Tourists in Nepal and Tibet Floods Revealed
Following the disaster affecting the Tibet region, an international list has been published regarding the status of hundreds of foreign visitors from dozens of different countries.
Following the devastating floods and landslides in Nepal and China's Tibet region, a total of 667 tourists have been reported missing, including 540 foreign nationals from 31 different countries.
Post-Disaster Missing Status
Following the disaster in Nepal and China's Tibet region, tourism authorities officially announced that 667 tourists are missing, including 540 foreigners from 31 countries.
It was reported that there are 260 people in Tibet's Gyirong County whose nationality information has not yet been clarified and their status is being investigated.
Missing Persons in Asian Countries
According to the published data, at least 288 people from India are missing in Nepal, while 200 people are stranded in China.
It was reported that about 100 citizens from China are missing, while at least 55 people from Malaysia could not be contacted.
Missing Reports from Western Countries
It was stated that at least 65 citizens from the United States are missing and efforts to reach these individuals are ongoing.
It was announced that 53 citizens from Ukraine, 33 from the UK, and 25 from Canada are on the missing list.
Australia and Other Countries
While it was reported that at least 25 citizens from Australia are missing, Foreign Minister Penny Wong stated that this number could be 34.
It was noted that 9 people from Singapore, at least eight each from Russia and Germany, and six each from Latvia and South Africa are missing.
Missing Cases from Other Nations
It was shared that 9 people working at a hydroelectric power plant in South Korea are missing and 10 people are stranded.
While a search was requested to find 5 citizens from Japan, it was reported that at least 5 people from New Zealand are missing.
Additional Country Citizens
It was announced that citizens of Belarus, Belgium, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, and Israel are also on the missing list.
It was stated that missing person reports have also been received from Kazakhstan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, and Sweden.
