Water Levels Rising in the Bhotekoshi River
Authorities urged citizens in flood-affected areas to remain on high alert due to rising water levels, and warning messages were sent to phones early in the morning.
Casualty and Missing Persons Toll Increases
The Nepal disaster agency announced that the death toll has risen to 752 and 2,502 people are still missing. On the Chinese side, it was reported that 16 people lost their lives.
Cleanup Operations Amid Destruction
In Dhading, one of the hardest-hit areas, residents returned to their destroyed homes to try to clear mud and debris, while crews work to reopen the main highway connecting Kathmandu.
International Support and Aid
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that his country will send a special team and $1 million in financial aid to support search and rescue operations in Nepal.
