New University Rankings Announced
Hofstra and Boston universities shared their rankings in the new listings released by U.S. News & World Report.
In the latest higher education rankings published by U.S. News & World Report, Hofstra University broke into the top 100 in two different categories, while Boston University achieved its highest national ranking to date.
Hofstra University in the Top 100
Hofstra University achieved a notable position by ranking 93rd in the Best National Universities category.
The institution also managed to secure a spot at 99th on the Best Value National Universities list.
Rankings in Undergraduate Programs
The university's academic performances in various undergraduate fields were also reflected in several rankings, achieving significant success.
Hofstra ranked 32nd in engineering, 116th in business, 193rd in computer science, and 143rd in psychology.
Institutional Developments and Achievements
Alongside its academic achievements, Hofstra University also earned the Carnegie R2 Research Classification.
The school also celebrated its first Rhodes Scholar, Resa B. Nelson, while its men's basketball team won the CAA championship.
Boston University's Historic Ranking
Boston University reached its highest ranking to date among national universities in the United States.
Placing 34th among 422 evaluated universities, the institution recorded an eight-spot jump compared to last year.
Social Mobility and Earnings Metrics
Strong metrics in social mobility and graduation rates played a significant role in Boston University's rise.
The institution climbed to 86th in social mobility and also ranked 45th nationwide in the newly added earnings metrics.
