North Korea criticized the United States' arms sales and military aid to Taiwan, accusing the Washington administration of increasing tensions in the region. At the same time, Pyongyang emphasized its support for Moscow's war efforts through a message sent to Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

In statements published by the North Korean state agency KCNA, it was stated that Washington's Taiwan policies endanger peace and stability in the region. International relations analyst Kim Myong Chol stated that US aircraft sales to Taiwan escalate tensions.

Growing Convergence with China

Taiwan had taken delivery of its first F-16V fighter jets in recent weeks against Beijing's military threats. North Korea's criticism shows that it has come closer to Beijing by giving full support to China's 'One China' principle.

Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia

Along with the statements regarding Taiwan, the Pyongyang administration stated its determination to continue cooperation in a message conveyed to Russian President Vladimir Putin. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un noted that they support Moscow's struggle for sovereignty on the basis of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
