It was announced that two individuals entered the Renoir Museum, located in the southern French town of Cagnes-sur-Mer, in the early morning hours for the purpose of theft.
Security Cameras and Alarm
According to a statement made by Mayor Bryan Masson, security cameras recorded the suspects and the alarm system went off at 5:48 AM.
Some of the Artworks Were Recovered
While it was stated that the thieves left two paintings in the museum's garden as they fled, it was expressed that the total value of the stolen works is approximately 10.5 million dollars.
Efforts by Security Forces
While police teams were dispatched to the scene in a short time, the investigation and search efforts launched to capture the fleeing suspects are ongoing.
