The China National Nuclear Corporation has announced the start of site leveling and excavation work for the second phase of the Jinqimen nuclear power plant in Zhejiang Province.

Phase Two Excavation Work

Site leveling and excavation work have begun for the second phase of the Jinqimen nuclear power plant located in China's Zhejiang Province. As part of these efforts, the first blast was successfully carried out during a mobilization meeting.

Hualong One 2.0 Technology

The new units have been designated as demonstration projects for the Hualong One 2.0 reactor design. This technology is an advanced pressurized water reactor combining third-generation features with advanced capabilities.

Approval Process and Capacity

The construction of the two reactors under the second phase was approved at a State Council executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Qiang. Once all units are completed, the total capacity of the plant will be approximately 7.2 GWe.
