Planned talks between Iran, Oman, and Gulf states regarding the management of maritime transport in the Strait of Hormuz have been postponed following a cargo ship being hit in the region.
Reasons for Postponing the Talks
The meeting planned to discuss the agreement reached between Iran and Oman concerning the management of ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has been suspended following the attacks in the region. Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi emphasized that the decision was made in the interests of consensus.
Attack and Casualties Reported
An Iranian cargo ship was targeted off the coast of Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz. As a result of this attack, one person lost their life, while four crew members were injured and taken for treatment.
Regional Security and Developments
An Iranian Foreign Ministry official stated that the postponement decision was made jointly by Tehran and Muscat at the request of certain regional countries. Iran will coordinate with Oman to set a new date.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations organization announced that a vessel was struck by a missile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Following the impact, a fire broke out on the ship, and the crew was completely evacuated.
