The urgency behind Warsaw's move became even more pronounced after a Russian Mi-8 military helicopter briefly violated Polish airspace. As the helicopter coming from the Kaliningrad region crossed the border, radar systems raised the alarm and scrambled aircraft.
Military Deployment and Personnel Plan
Polish Deputy Defense Minister Stanisław Wziątek stated that the planned military facility would likely host between 3,000 and 5,000 American troops. The country aims to increase the total U.S. military presence with this move.
Administrative and Financial Process
President Nawrocki emphasized that clear timelines have not yet been established, but resolving the administrative and financial details is only a matter of time. It is hoped that Donald Trump will also attend the opening of the base once the work is completed.
