President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made an official visit to Bishkek for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit and the World Nomad Games.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan traveled to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit and inaugurate the 6th World Nomad Games.
Bishkek Airport Welcoming Ceremony
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan landed at Manas International Airport as part of his official visit to Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek.
Erdoğan was welcomed at the airport with an official ceremony by Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, officially launching the engagements.
Opening of the World Nomad Games
On the first day of his visit, President Erdoğan attended the grand opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.
Approximately 4,000 athletes from 112 countries are competing in this major organization held from August 31 to September 6, 2026.
SCO Summit and Bilateral Meetings
On the second day of his visit, Erdoğan will deliver an important address at the SCO Summit session held in an expanded format.
On the sidelines of the summit, bilateral meetings will be held with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
Critical Agenda Items
Regional and global issues will be comprehensively addressed during the bilateral meetings between the leaders.
The Russia-Ukraine war, the latest situation in Syria, security developments, and strategic energy projects constitute the main agenda items of the talks.
Cultural and Book Promotion Activities
Within the scope of the engagements, Emine Erdoğan also supported the visit by making social media posts regarding the tradition.
Additionally, the book titled "Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Relations in the 35th Year of Its Independence," prepared by the AK Party, was introduced to the public.
