Five-Day Robot Olympics Concludes

The World Humanoid Robot Games held in China have concluded after a five-day marathon. More than 2,000 robots participated in the organization to compete in various Olympic-style events.

Consecutive Records in the 100-Meter Dash

During the competition, a robot sprinter broke the record by running the 100 meters in 8.64 seconds. This time followed previous marks of 8.86 seconds set the day before and 9.39 seconds prior to that. The human 100-meter world record was set by Usain Bolt in 2009 at 9.58 seconds.

Collisions and Fires at the Finish Line

Some robots that completed the race, including the champion robot, crashed into the padded barrier at the finish line, emitting sparks and catching fire. While officials intervened on the scene with fire extinguishers, almost all competing robots were carried away on stretchers.

Record-Breaking Model in Real-Life Tasks

All three records in the competition were broken by Tiangong Ultra model humanoid robots developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, established in 2023. The robots also competed in real-world tasks such as housework, hotel services, and emergency response.
