Regional powers seek diplomacy in crisis with Iran and other Middle East developments

Qatar and regional powers are maintaining diplomatic contacts aimed at mitigating the conflict between the US and Iran. During this process, an oil tanker was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, while Israel continues its military operations in Gaza and Lebanon.

Qatar's Contacts in Tehran

Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held talks in Tehran aimed at resolving the conflict between the US and Iran.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry announced that Al Thani discussed efforts to de-escalate tensions and a safe passage plan in the Strait of Hormuz with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Tanker Attack in the Strait of Hormuz

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported receiving a report that an oil tanker was struck in the waters between Oman and Iran.

It was stated that in Tuesday's incident, the vessel caught fire after being hit by an unknown projectile, but the crew members were safe.

Attacks in Gaza and Lebanon

According to statements by local health authorities, four people lost their lives and numerous others were injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza.

One woman lost her life and six people were injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting homes in southern Lebanon.

Diplomatic and Military Developments

Nickolay Mladenov, head of the US board overseeing the Gaza ceasefire, criticized Israel's ongoing attacks during a UN meeting.

The Pakistani military announced that it has agreed to provide support to the Kuwaiti military in areas such as training, capacity building, and border management.
