Rise in Global Rankings
Rice University has climbed two more spots with a steady upward momentum in the 2027 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In this year's rankings, which evaluated 2,297 universities from 118 countries and regions, the institution has climbed a total of 46 spots since 2023.
Academic Achievements
The university delivered standout performances in areas foundational to its academic mission. Ranking 94th globally in teaching, Rice achieved 114th place in research quality, marking a 32-spot improvement compared to last year.
Strategic Goals and Assessments
These achievements directly align with the goals of the university's 10-year strategic plan, which aims to increase its global impact. Provost Amy Dittmar emphasized that excellence in education and research forms the foundation of a world-class university.
Other National Recognitions
Alongside this international success, the university also received national acclaim. Climbing one spot to 16th place in the national best colleges rankings announced earlier in the month, the institution also placed in the top 10 in the value and undergraduate education categories.
