Floods and Evacuations in the Capital
Following heavy rainfall over the weekend in Thailand's capital, citizens had to walk in waist-deep water on Monday.
Some neighborhoods in the city were completely submerged due to 320 millimeters of rain that fell within two to three days last week, and thousands of people took refuge in evacuation centers.
Damage and Losses Nationwide
According to the Ministry of Interior, the flood disaster affected 41 provinces nationwide and adversely impacted over 580,000 homes.
Experts state that the economic damage nationwide could reach at least 11 billion baht, or 327 million dollars, and losses are expected to increase.
