Operation Near the Base
A large-scale security operation was carried out near the RAF Fairford base, belonging to the UK Royal Air Force and located approximately 90 minutes west of London.
Suspicious Vehicles and Arrests
Following the sighting of three suspicious vehicles moving toward the base, five London residents in their early twenties were arrested on Sunday on terrorism and explosives charges.
Evacuations in the Area
Dozens of homes were evacuated in the early hours following the incident, and a heavy emergency response team was deployed at the facility in the scenic Cotswolds countryside.
Release on Bail
Counter Terrorism Policing head Laurence Taylor stated on Monday that following extensive questioning and examinations, the suspects were released on bail.
Authorities emphasized that the decision to grant bail does not mean the investigation has concluded and that the inquiry is ongoing.
