History of the World Peace Bell

The idea of the World Peace Bell emerged through the initiative of Japanese national Chiyoji Nakagawa and was produced by melting metals collected from UN representatives.

Donated to the United Nations Headquarters in New York in June 1954, metal coins from numerous countries were used in the making of the bell.

Located in Ankara's Botanic Park

Donated to Turkey within the scope of the World Peace Bell movement, the bell was placed in the Botanic Park in Ankara's Çankaya district.

Located near Atakule, this meaningful artwork can be seen by visitors throughout the year.
