March Accident and Arrest Process

The incident occurred in March when the vehicle Woods was driving collided with a pickup truck and flipped over. No one was injured in the crash, and Woods had to crawl out of the passenger door of the vehicle.

Police released body camera footage from after the crash in April. The footage showed Woods kneeling calmly and telling police the crash happened while he was looking at his phone.

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek stated that the breathalyzer test results at the scene were clean, but Woods refused to undergo a urine screen for other substances.

Police officers stated they suspected Woods's normal faculties were impaired due to an unknown substance. During searches, two white pills containing hydrocodone, prescribed as a painkiller, were found in his pockets.

Making a statement on social media after the incident, Woods stated that he was aware of the seriousness of the situation and would take a break for a while to focus on his health and receive treatment.
