Turkey Ranked Sixth in World Steel Exports in 2025

The World Steel in Figures 2026 report, published by the World Steel Association, revealed global steel trade data for 2025. In the same period, Turkey became the world's sixth-largest steel exporter with an export volume of 17.5 million tons, while also ranking as the world's fifth-largest steel importer with 19.8 million tons of imports.

Turkey's Position in Export Rankings

According to 2025 data, China was the world's largest steel exporter, followed by Japan and South Korea. Turkey maintained its strong position in the global market by ranking sixth on the list with an export performance of 17.5 million tons.

Prominent Countries in Import Data

In global steel imports, the European Union ranked first with 43.7 million tons. Turkey, meanwhile, was recorded as the world's fifth-largest steel importer with an import volume of 19.8 million tons.

Developments in the Global Steel Market

The World Steel Association stated that China's increasing exports are connected to the maturation process of the country's economy. It was emphasized that the change in per capita steel consumption is a normal process previously observed in developed economies.
