UK Decides to Provide Defensive Air Support to Saudi Arabia

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced that they will provide defensive air support to Saudi Arabia against Houthi forces, ahead of his first meeting with US President Donald Trump at the UN General Assembly.

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced that an agreement has been reached to provide defensive air support to Saudi Arabia in order to counter Houthi fighters and restore stability in the region.

Air-to-Air Refueling and Operational Details

Within the scope of the agreement, it was stated that air-to-air refueling will be provided to Saudi jets to defend energy infrastructure against the Iran-backed insurgents and maintain the flow of oil from the Gulf. It was noted that this operational support will add to the UK Sky Sabre air defense system already operating in the region.

Speaking while traveling to New York for the United Nations meetings, Burnham noted that an RAF Voyager aircraft will refuel Saudi jets for a few weeks to bypass disruptions near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Prime Minister Burnham, in his first meeting with US President Donald Trump, will address global economic volatility and inflationary pressures on the UK economy, and call for the de-escalation of the conflict in Iran.
