Ukrainian Drone Strikes Target Warehouses and Refineries in Russia
Long-range Ukrainian drones completely destroyed a major Wildberries warehouse in Russia's Tambov region and also struck a Lukoil refinery in Nizhny Novgorod.
As a result of long-range unmanned aerial vehicle attacks carried out by Ukrainian forces, a large Wildberries e-commerce warehouse located in Russia's Tambov region completely burned down to ashes.
Wildberries Warehouse Completely Burned Down
According to statements by local authorities, the main warehouse belonging to Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, located in the Tambov region southeast of Moscow, was completely destroyed as a result of the drone attack.
The warehouse in question had previously been targeted on July 18. While the Ukrainian side argues that among the products sold by the company are equipment and technical components used by Russian military forces, the company denies these allegations.
Lukoil Refinery Also Targeted
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that during the night, a Lukoil refinery located in Kstovo in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region was also hit and a fire broke out at the facility.
Nizhny Novgorod Governor Gleb Nikitin also officially confirmed that an industrial facility in the region had been damaged.
Infrastructure Decree and Air Defense Statement from Russia
Following these attacks, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree stating that the state could temporarily seize critical infrastructure facilities if private property owners fail to provide necessary protection or rebuild the facilities.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a total of 426 Ukrainian drones were shot down by air defense systems over 15 different Russian regions and Crimea throughout the night.
Toll of Clashes and Other Developments
While the wave of attacks continued, a woman and a four-year-old child lost their lives in the Chernihiv region during attacks launched by Russia against Ukrainian territory.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Order of Liberty of Ukraine to Elon Musk for his personal merits, while also continuing efforts to secure connectivity through Musk's Starlink network for longer-range drone strikes targeting Russian territory.
