Ukrainian Leader Zelenskyy Calls on Trump for China Diplomacy and Patriot License

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he met with US President Donald Trump during his contacts in the United States on the occasion of the United Nations General Assembly.

Request to Leverage China's Influence

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he asked US President Donald Trump to pressure the Chinese leader to use Beijing's influence over Moscow to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Zelenskiy stated that he has not yet received feedback from the White House regarding Trump's talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, but that he expects to learn the outcome of this contact.

Possible Trilateral Technical Talks

The Washington administration supports holding a trilateral technical meeting involving delegations from the US, Ukraine, and Russia, without the participation of leaders.

While it was noted that the United Arab Emirates has been proposed as a location for the meeting in question, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also confirmed that Putin and Trump discussed holding such a meeting in the near future.

Patriot Production Licenses and Sanctions

During his visit to the US, Zelenskyy thanked members of Congress for the strong sanctions bill targeting Moscow, and expressed hope that the measures signed by Trump last week would be implemented.

He also publicly announced that Trump confirmed that final licenses have been granted to the Kyiv administration to produce Patriot air defense systems.

Food Security and International Contacts

The Ukrainian leader discussed potential ceasefires regarding the resumption of free food flow and full deliveries via the Black Sea with the leaders of India, Turkey, Egypt, and Middle East countries.

Zelenskiy also discussed his country's budget deficit and financial support with the presidents of the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission.

Midnight Airstrikes

Airstrikes that took place at night caused casualties on both sides and demonstrated that the intensity of the clashes continues.

Ukrainian officials reported that 5 people lost their lives and 11 people were injured as a result of Russian attacks, while Russian authorities stated that 1 person was killed and 21 people were injured due to Ukraine's long-range attacks.
