Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska announced that her family's apartment took a direct hit during an airstrike on Odesa, while it was reported that there were numerous injuries in the attack.

Devastating Airstrike in Odesa

Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska announced that her family's apartment was completely destroyed in a Russian airstrike on the Black Sea port city of Odesa.

Direct Missile Hit

In a post on her social media account, Yastremska stated that the apartment was directly struck by a Kalibr cruise missile fired by Russia and published a photograph of a burning multi-story building.

The Only Item Left Intact

The national athlete stated that the only item that remained undamaged in the wreckage where the massive destruction took place was a hanging Roland Garros towel.

Injured and Missing Reported

Odesa Regional Governor Oleh Kiper reported that 37 people, including an infant, were injured and two people were missing in the missile and drone attack launched on Odesa and nearby Chornomorsk on Friday night.

Call to Sports Governing Bodies

Following the destruction, Dayana Yastremska called on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to examine the footage that emerged.
