United States Holds Memorial Ceremonies on the 25th Anniversary of the September 11 Attacks
Those who lost their lives on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks were commemorated with ceremonies held across the US.
The United States remembered its losses with official memorial ceremonies held in New York City, Shanksville, and the Pentagon on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Shanksville Ceremonies
The ceremony organized by the National Park Service at the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville began at 1:00 PM.
During the event, while commemorating the heroism of the passengers, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum delivered speeches.
New York and Pentagon Programs
In addition to the reading of names at the ceremonies in New York City, a special commemoration was held for those who lost their lives due to 9/11-related illnesses.
At the program in the Pentagon, President Donald Trump delivered a speech saluting military personnel and first responders.
