US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz announced that Washington believes the Tehran administration is not acting in good faith in the ongoing negotiations with Iran and is demanding everything upfront.

Disagreement in Negotiations

US UN Ambassador Mike Waltz stated that Iran is not acting in good faith in the economic blockade and nuclear program negotiations aimed at halting attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.

Waltz noted that Iranian negotiators demanded the lifting of billions of dollars in sanctions upfront, which is why the peace plan was rejected.

Iran's Diplomatic and Military Stance

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that diplomacy is the only way out of this deadlock, while stating that his country is also fully prepared for the resumption of a potential war.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, on the other hand, noted that his country is open to talks regarding its nuclear program, but will not accept any pressure or bullying.

Strait of Hormuz and the China Factor

While the US administration argues that it has established full control in the Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump claimed that Iran urgently wants to make a deal due to the losses suffered.

Additionally, Mike Waltz evaluated claims that China is supporting Iran with missile targeting, stating that this issue was discussed with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
