US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday to revive an agreement aimed at ending Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Moscow Visit and Welcome

US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner landed in Moscow on Saturday to revive negotiations aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

Upon arriving in Moscow, the US delegation was officially welcomed at the airport by Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian Presidential Special Representative.

Temporary Halt to Airstrikes

Simultaneously with the visit, the parties announced that airstrikes would be temporarily suspended during the envoys' contacts.

While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv would halt attacks, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also announced that Vladimir Putin had ordered a 72-hour pause in attacks against Kyiv.

Future Contacts and Plans

According to Axios, the US envoys are expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin later in the day.

Following their contacts in Moscow, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to visit Kyiv on Sunday.
