US forces struck Iranian missile launchers preparing a mine-laden rocket attack in the Strait of Hormuz on Larak Island. Following intelligence that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was preparing rockets and naval mines around the Strait of Hormuz, US forces carried out an airstrike targeting missile launchers on Larak Island.

Stating that a limited and precise action was carried out to eliminate an imminent threat to the strategic waterway, Central Command rejected allegations that the attack was an act of aggression.

Response Targeting Bases in Jordan

Iran's retaliatory missile and drone attacks targeting American and coalition forces in Jordan were largely intercepted by air defense systems.

The Jordanian Armed Forces confirmed that eight missiles entering the country's airspace were successfully destroyed in the air and no significant damage or impact was reported.

President Trump's Remarks and Sanctions

US President Donald Trump defended the policy of blockade and financial pressure on Tehran, arguing that Iran would use nuclear weapons if it possessed them, and stated that the country was in a failed state.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that new weekly sanctions targeting banks helping Iran access the global financial system would be put into effect.

Following the military developments, oil prices in international markets rose above 90 dollars per barrel.
