US Oversight Agency Discloses Military and Financial Balance Sheet of Iran War
According to the first official report released, the cost of the Iran war has exceeded $37.5 billion, while severe shortages have occurred in advanced weapon stockpiles and major damage has been sustained at bases.
US government oversight units have shared the first comprehensive official report with the public regarding the consequences of the clashes with Iran as reflected in military inventory, bases, and costs.
Shortages in Weapon Stockpiles
The published official report stated that strategic-level shortages have occurred in advanced munitions stockpiles and industrial bottlenecks have been experienced that slow down the resupply process.
Experts estimate that it could take approximately three years to recapture pre-war inventory levels.
Military Bases and Diplomatic Facilities
As a result of attacks organized by Iran, hundreds of buildings as well as dozens of aircraft and drones were damaged or destroyed at US bases in eight different countries.
The report included that the damage cost at diplomatic missions, which had not been previously disclosed to the public, is $184 million.
Total War Cost
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reported in statements to Congress in late July that the total war cost has reached $37.5 billion.
It was noted that the State Department's own conflict-related expenses stand at the level of $113 million.
Evacuations and New Tensions
Following the initial attacks launched by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28, approximately 9,000 American citizens were evacuated from the Middle East and Europe.
It was announced that the cost of the said evacuation operation exceeded $11 million.
